The Granite Hills Grizzlies are hosting an alumni baseball game on Saturday, Feb. 18 at Granite’s varsity baseball field.
The game will start at 11 a.m. sharp. The current varsity players will be playing against the alumni.
“I hope to bring back former baseball players that way they can come back to their old roots, as well as get to know our current team and rekindle old friendships,” said head coach De La Peña “I think it would be a nice thing if the alumni came.”
Coach De La Peña is rounding up the alumni players. The more that come, the more fun everyone will have.
“I hope to see all the alumni out there and participate to help build our program,” stated De La Peña. Food and drinks will be served to players and alumni that show up.
De La Peña looks forward to having some of his former players return to play in the alumni game. He’s hopeful that some will leave a good impression on his current players.
Grizzlies pre-league opener starts February 24 with a tournament at Farmersville. Grizzlies will play at least four or more games. Everybody should go out and support the Grizzlies at Farmersville, last year they took third in the tournament.
