Coming to the end

By Ashlee HalopoffThe Lady Grizzlies started the second half of EYL. Their first match was against the Monache Mauraders at their home.
The game started off with a quick start with swim-offs, and intense competition. Minutes passed with the Lady Grizzlies taking many shots at the goal but nothing worked until one of their key players, Sonia Stewart, made the first goal and successfully scored.
"I think we did [well], we passed really well and stole the ball a lot, " said Senior Sonia Stewart, "and we played really good defense!"
During the second half of the game, the Lady Grizzlies had a different strategy. They decided to play defense, with fast breaks to score. They improved their passing and they are improving as a team.
"Our team is getting better each game," said Senior Andrea Rodriguez, "I am really proud of our girls."
The last quarter of the game, both teams were going head-to- head in competition. But the Mauraders came out on top with much aggression; however, Monache played a good game too. They had many plays that scored successfully and they played at full speed.
"I can see our team really coming together," said Sophomore Savannah Pipkin, "we have improved and anyone can obviously see we will take on any challenge."
It was a great game, I was proud to see the lady grizzlies working together and they are confident that they will go out of this season with a bang.
