Tennis confidence peaks

On Wednesday, Oct. 13 the Granite Hills High School girls tennis team departed to Porterville High School for their tennis match.
“We did the best we could, and I think that everyone tried their hardest.” said junior Kathleen Jurkovich, varsity tennis player.
The score was 5-1 for junior varsity and 5-11 for varsity. Due to the loss of sun light, two of the third round games, one doubles and one singles, were called a tie at 5-5, making these games not count.
“I think I played pretty good, I was confident at the beginning of my match and I ended up winning all of my matches; I was joyful” said sophomore Lisa Yang, varsity Tennis player.
In the first round of singles, Mai Lor lost two out of three games; in second round singles she lost all three games and in the third round singles, she won one game
“I feel like we did a lot better going against them this time around,” said Kelsey Blackburn, varsity tennis player. “A lot of the girls have improved since the last time we played them.”
All three singles and two out of three doubles won for JV, it was an extraordinary event for the varsity tennis players.
“I am very proud of the JV team knowing that we have improved from our first game against PHS” said Summer Shannon JV tennis player.
Randy Smee the tennis coach said, “These girls played very well against Porterville this time around and I am proud of them.”
The entire tennis team, including both JV and varsity, was very proud of themselves for achieving many wins.
