The final score of the Granite Hills Grizzlies boys’ water polo loss against the Strathmore Spartans was 7-9.
Monday night’s game took place at the Granite Hills aquatics center at 6 p.m.
The game started with the boys winning the swim off and setting up on offense. After taking shots from one side of the pool to the other the half time score was.
“When I watch you guys you can tell you have improved as a team a lot, you guys communicate more with each other, you guys know each other’s’ weakness and strength and you guys use that to play off each other.” said spectator Sheng Lor.
The boys switched sides and really stepped their game up by scoring 5 more points. The shots of the game came from Clay Congdon who scored two, Brad Stailey who scored three, George Arroyo who scored one, and Jose Leon, who also scored one.
"I think this game we did better on setting up for a point and defense. We are starting to fall in our positions more naturally and now we just need to learn to run the plays and communicate more.” said Victor Yanez.
After the game the boys gathered together and talked about the major points that they need to work on during games.
“We need to set up on defense, communicate more, and be more aggressive. We need to learn how to set up for man ups and man downs.” said Jorge Arroyo.
