The Grizzlies started off the game with a bang. It was a great beginning for the Grizzlies.
Within the first two minutes Anthony Hernandez dribbled the ball down the sideline and kicked the ball to the opposite side of the goal box for the first goal of the game.
Not too long after Granite’s first goal, Granite proceeded to take the ball down the field again, but fell short as the Titans kicked it out for a Grizzly corner kick. George Nunez took the corner kick and centered it when Ulises Mijes tapped it in to give them the lead by two.
At the start of the second half, Cesar Chavez quickly scored a goal to make it two to one. Granite was playing more on the defensive side now that they were only up by one.
But the Grizzlies caused a free kick right outside of the area. As the referee was backing up the Granite players, the quick witted Titans shot it when Granite least expected and tied the game at two all.
When the Grizzlies took it back to midfield to start it off again, Hernandez took off with the ball making the Titans fall for his every move and finally took on the goalie one-on-one. Hernandez just chipped the ball over the goalie for Granite’s third and final goal of the game.
Cesar Chavez got only past the mid-fielders when the referee blew his whistle to signal the end of the game. Granite upset Chavez yet again beating them three to two.
Granite’s next home game will be this Wednesday against the Monache Marauders.
