Thanksgiving blessing

With Thanksgiving coming tomorrow, we all take time to reflect on our lives and our experiences and what we are really grateful and thankful for.
With so many people facing tough times this holiday season, we should take time to appreciate the little things we are blessed with in everyday life.
One thing we should be thankful for is family. Without our family, we would feel lonely in our times of need. Family for most is the one thing that is a constant factor in life. Family is there for support and comfort. Without family we would be nothing. For this, I’m thankful for having my family.
Another thing that I am thankful for is having a roof over my head. With so many families having their homes foreclosed on, having a home is a blessing in itself. Having a home provides warmth and comfort and a place of belonging. To have a house means to have one place where you are free to be yourself and to say that your own this piece of property.
Another thing that we should all be thankful for is the local heroes in our town who give their time to make other people’s lives better. One person that stands out in our little town of Porterville is David Gong. He has given so much to the community of Porterville to make it a better place for families to live and has helped improve the lives of so many.
Another blessing we have is the members of our armed forces who are currently serving abroad to protect our country.
During this time of thanks, we should all look back and realize what means the most to us, and be thankful for all those that make a difference in this world.
