A new video game called Homefront, on Xbox and PlayStation, takes place in a bleak future for the United States.

While it is just a game, some of the predictions have some similar events to today's reality (the game's creators wrote of a nuclear meltdown in Japan well before this month's tsunami disaster), and it is an intimidating future indeed.

The storyline to Homefront is how Korea will take over America in 15 years; the shooter in this game is a soldier who is fighting against the Koreans in hopes of saving his family.

It is a first person shooter game that was created by Kaos Studios and published by THQ. One of the major portions of the story is not only built around the growth of the North Korean forces, but also predicts the economic downfall of the United States.

The game follows through from 2011 to 2027 on an erratic timeline, as follows:

The beginning of the game starts off in 2011 where North Koreas officials face another UN sanction over its latest nuclear test. In the year 2012 Kim Jong-Il dies and the thrown is given to his son Kim Jong-un.

In 2014 the American military pulls out from the Korean Peninsula. General Motors declares economic failure for a second time. The year 2015 the effects of oil are drastically felt as gas prices reach up to 20 dollars a gallon due to a war between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

By the year 2016 America vacates its military from Japan, as well as other countries overseas, concentrating on its instability back home.

In 2018, after the destruction of one of its nuclear facilities by Korean Special Forces, Japan gives everything it owns to Korea, their lives are spared. In 2019 the UN is broken apart; and its infrastructure is left to perish.

By the year 2020: Canada closes its borders to America. The US military takes over the functions of many emergency services, as well as the distribution of basic goods.

In 2021 A new epidemic known as the “Knoxville Cough,” a type of bird flu, begins to spread in the United States. In 2022 in fear of contracting this virus, Mexico closes its borders to Americans.

In 2023 the Knoxville Cough ravages the American public. The Korean People's Army reaches 20 million total personnel.

By the end of the game, in 2027, the US Armed Forces have disbanded and broken apart.

The game has a lot of obstacles and gory battles; it is known as a great game to all of its players. Homefront has every gamer looking forward to a sequel of the game.
