Nothing could be sweeter than getting a chance to play Tulare Union Redskins in a golf match. The Granite Hills boys varsity golf team put up a tough first league match, but fell to the Redskins 12-6, on Thursday, March 6.

Sophomore Joel Jacuinde had the low score of the day. Jacuinde also had a strong par on hole number nine at the Porterville golf course. He is one of the younger ones on the team, but makes up for that with plenty of dedication and skill.

“We played with all that we had and that is all that matters,” said Jacuinde.

Jack Murdock had the only four point win along with the only birdie of the game.

“We played pretty good as a team,” said Murduck. “We didn’t have our coach at the game, but overall we played a really good game against Tulare. They are a really strong team this year.”

The next home match will be Thursday, March 13, against the Delano Tigers.
