Winning is always at the top of every golfer’s mind.

But, this year’s golf team is having trouble pulling through.

The Grizzlies hosted the cross-town rivals, Monache Marauders on Thursday, April 4, and were pounced on, 24-0.

"We played well, but not good enough," said sophomore Joel Jacuinde. "We will try better next time. You have to want it more than they do and I think we do. Next time we will come out with a victory."

It's safe to say that experience is just one of the key winning factors that the Marauders have. And striving for every golfer to play their best game, of course.

Granite's Jacuinde sure has some experience on his plate and had the low score of a 39 to end his day. Jacuinde had a good par streak, which started on hole four and ended on hole nine.

It's also safe to say the Jacuinde wasn't going to go down without a fight against his opponents.

Second lowest was Matt Munoz, with a 47. Jose Gomes had one birdie during the eighth hole.

"I believe that by my senior year we will be tough to beat," said Jacuinde. "As a team we are getting much better and that really does matter."
