Many students may have noticed a new face hanging around the choir room. This would be no other than the new choir teacher at Granite Hills, Sasanna Efseaff. A graduate of CSU Fresno, Granite's choir is honored to have added Efseaff to their program.
Efseaff, who is spending her first year teaching at Granite, is enjoying the campus, claiming the school "feels like home" compared to other campuses. "I feel good being here," she stated.
As far as the choir program goes, Efseaff has set some hopes for the program this year. She will be taking them to festivals in Fresno, but as far accomplishments, she just wants "everyone singing their best in health and heart." She would also like to expose the students to music outside of Porterville.
Efseaff believes the choir will do as well as they want to and many of the students are hoping the addition of Efseaff will strengthen their program. "She'll do well," stated Mariah Graham, a Granite Hills junior and choir student. "She's enthusiastic about the program, and that really helps."
Efseaff has already made a strong impression on her students. "She has brought this sort of teaching method that is fresh and new," said Margaret Martinez, a Granite Hills junior and choir member. "She has taught us so much in a week, and if we lose her it will be a really hard fall for the choir program. We absolutely need her."
