s the end of the semester draws near, one thing is on students’ minds. No, it isn’t finals. Winter formal is this Saturday, December 8, and students are rushing to finish last minute details.
This year’s theme is “Footprints in the Snow,” and the dance is being held by the sophomore class. It will be held in the Granite Hills cafeteria from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Tickets cost $17.50 per person and $35 a couple. Tickets must be purchased by Friday, December 7. Tickets will not be sold at the door. The dance is open to all grade levels. People planning to attend the dance with a student that attends any school other than Granite Hills must get a Guest Pass from Jane Kisling in room 407. Guest passes must be completed by Thursday, December 6.
Pictures will also be available for purchase at the site of the dance. Pictures are provided by Tina Smith under Essence Photography. Pictures will start at 5 p.m. and end at 10 p.m. Packages will range from $12 up to $65. This year you may also add facial touch-ups for any imperfections you don’t want seen.
“I’m really excited to dress up,” said freshmen, Danielle Rafanan. Rafanan will be escorted by her boyfriend, Beto Huerta. “I’m excited because it’s my last Christmas Ball,” said senior, Julie Wiggins. Wiggins will be escorted be her friend, Ivan Portillo.
With the rising anticipation of the big event, one thing is missing. Last year saw an increase in crazy and unique ways to ask out to winter formal. From candlelight tea bags to big painted signs, last year showed no shortage of creativity. This year has shown little.
Even with the lack of creativity from students, winter formal promises to be an extravagant event. Guys grab your suits, and girls grab your guys, because this night promises to be nothing but memories.
