What happened to the Mega Shows?
Merrissa Camarena| 03/12/08 | Meag Noise

It has been about five months since the town of Porterville has had any sort of show that has attracted a large number of kids. The last one was on November 16, 2007 and was held at Granite Hills High School in the cafeteria by the Grizzly Gazette staff.

Well guess what dearest students! The Gazette is hosting another show! The predetermined date is Saturday, March 29, 2008; bands are scheduled to being at 2pm and end around 9pm, all attendees must clear out by 10pm sharp.

This one is expected to be bigger, with more bands. The name of this Mega show will be Megafest, due to the amount of requested bands (which is 11). This show is brought to you by the entertainment staff and the Gazette, once again. The purpose for this show is pretty much the same as last; it is to help fund the journalism class’ trip to Anaheim in April.

Megafest will be open to all high school students who have their high school i.d.; no one will be admitted in without a valid student i.d. If for any reason you cannot find your original copy of your i.d., the Gazette advises you to pay a visit to your school’s guidance center or office to print out a copy of your schedule. The cost for this show is $5, food and drinks will be sold at this event. It will be hosted in the Granite Hills cafeteria once again.

Entertainment report, Ty McDonald, is a co-producer of this show. “It’s going to be brutal! Bree bree bree!” Ty, along with the entire Gazette staff encourage absolutely everyone to go to this event and support your local online high school newspaper in their quest to be top in the nation for the second year in a row!

“You know, a lot of this wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t for Mae, even though I rock too,” Ty said. “She’s the one who pulls all of this together and really gets this stuff going. Also Mrs. Duncan, the Granite Hills High School principal, her generosity is great, she is sacrificing a Saturday to us kids to get nothing but a headache, so everyone please come out, show your gratitude and have fun and dance! Oh, and bree bree bree!!”
