10,000 BC overtakes theaters
Merrissa Camarena | 03/18/08 | Review
Roland Emmerich captivates audiences once again with his new 2008 action/adventure film, "10,000 BC" that was released in theaters on March 7, 2008. Emmerich has, in a way, developed a high reputation for his films, “Independence Day,” which has won an Academy award for best visual effects, along with “The Day After Tomorrow” that won the VES Award for Best Single Visual Effect of the Year. Most of his films are expected to be real thrillers, keeping viewers guessing and on the edge of their seats.
Emmerich’s new film banked in over $61 million in the box office and its numbers continue to grow. “It was really cool,” commented Danielle Curlin. “There was a lot of action and suspense, it was just an over all great movie.” Though the movie did sort of start out kind of slow, it all built up to a huge action scene. He creates a scenery that stays true the title, it’s set back in 10,000 BC with all the prehistoric creatures and harsh climates. Each creature is created with exact detail, from the height of the massive mammoths to the agility of the carnivorous prehistoric birds and the ferocious saber tooth tiger.
The movie is about a young warrior named D’Leh who is in search for his beloved Evolett. One day, D’Leh’s tribe is overrun by a gang of slave-driving horsemen who kidnap Evolett and slaughter members of the tribe, while setting their homes ablaze. D’Leh sets out in search of his love, Evolet along with his father’s best friend, Tick Tick, and along the way they gather “spears,” which the movie calls it, from other tribes from distant lands.
“10,000 BC” is a must see movie, so hurry! Before it’s too late, rush to the movie theaters and purchase a ticket for “10,000 BC,” directed by Roland Emmerich.
