On Friday, March 7, 2008 “10,000 BC” will hit theaters for the very first time. This movie is directed by Roland Emmerich ("Independence Day,” “The Day After Tomorrow”). For those who have watched both “Independence Day,” and “The Day After Tomorrow” know the suspense that Emmerich builds in his films. “The [trailers] look really cool,” said Beverly Congdon, who is looking forward to “10,000 BC.” “I think the movie will be historically accurate.”
“10,000 BC” is set back in time, hence the title, it’s a movie about the mythical age of prophesies and gods and the belief of ancient spirits who rule the land. Also about a certain tribe that lives near the mountains and a specific hunter, D’Leh, who soon falls in love for the amazingly beautiful Evolet. One evening their camp is raided by a gang of mysterious warlords and along with many goods from the village, they take Evolet along with them. So D’Leh sets off on a quest to find his beloved Evolet with a small group of hunters in pursuit of these bandits. Though, the party hasn’t ever ventured past the limits of their village and is now taking on this new land that they’ve never seen before.
There is so much of this movie left untold, but it would be best to not spoil this film. Make sure to visit your local theater and check if they are showing “10,000 BC”. Judging by the trailers viewed on television, this movie looks well worth the while to see. Once again, the movie debuts on Friday, March 7, 2008, keep that date in mind. Also be sure to look out for a review that will come up within the end of the week. Reason for the week is to give the box office time to calculate ratings.
