Local residents get to enjoy a unique feel and theme once they walk into the Hot Potato, the one and only potato bar located in Porterville on Olive Street. This new, low-cost, fifties diner themed restaurant is a place where every one of all ages can enjoy.

The restaurant has a warm welcoming environment from when a person barely walks in. Customers receive a cheerful “welcome,” from an employee upon walking in. And also, one of the first things they might see while walking in would be a quote plastered on the wall that would put a smile on anyone’s face.

“What I say is, that if a fellow really likes potatoes, he must be a pretty decent sort of fellow,” A.A. Mine

With nothing costing over nine dollars, the menu consists of only potatoes, with the exception of the children’s’ menu, soups, salads, and sides. There are 12 different house specials. Costumers can also “build a spud” if they choose to customize their potato without any sides. Anyone can choose from 27 different potato toppings, from cheddar cheese to Moroccan chicken.

The children’s menu consists of a Jr. Potato, nachos, hot dogs, chili dogs, and pizza.

The restaurant also features two soups of the day.

All of the potatoes are baked right in the back kitchen and served to the customer fast and fresh so that they can enjoy. And while eating these potatoes in the restaurant, customers can enjoy quality entertainment from their flat screen television.

So, come on down to the Hot Potato, it is an experience that nobody should miss.
