f Love and Wrath is an electronica/hardcore band. They recorded their music early 2006 when they first started the band. Throughout their beginning, drummer David Cano broke his ankle in July ’06, which forced him to depart from the band until healed. Cano came back eight months later.
OLAW’s main goal is toshow what they’ really made of and spread the word of God, which they feel is part of their calling as a band.
The boys grew up in church together. The current members are David Cano, who plays drums, Jr. Favela strumming the keyboard, Sam Araiza and Bigvak Solis shredding on guitar, Charlie Solis whamming kids with his sweet vocal chords, and newest member Adam Martinez playing bass. All boys share a common love and passion for music.
“Our one and only inspiration is God! We have all been through rough times in our lives and God was always there to lift us up,” commented lead man Charlie Solis. “This is our way to pay him back, and to preach his word. We are so thankful of what he has done in our lives.”
Coming into this music business was sort of a jump; they use to play in the Christian ministry at their local church but are all fairly new to the music scene in their area, except for the bass player, Adam, who is the only member with previous band experience
With all the members 100 percent dedicated to this band and 110 percent dedicated to God, they have their hearts set on going far. They stay up late nights making new beats to make new music and just have fun with what they do. There goal is to have a twist to music and still get a message out, that its not to late to ask for God’s forgiveness but even though they feel its their job to sort of preach, they do not want to give the expression there shoving the bible down anyone’s throat, they simple want to tell you what they believe and you can either take it or leave it but they are still down for fans just attending their shows to enjoy the music. Of love and Wrath has played in venues in Ventura, Oxnard, Bellflower, Yucaipa, Westlake, Santa Barbara and even Lindsay’s venue “The Rock”, playing aside hardcore/metal bands like, Stick to your Guns, Winds of Plague, A Plea for Purging, This Moment, and Born of Osiris.
With all the new shows, the band will soon be recording there new Ep, but to help out a little, maybe some good criticism and money will help pay for the studio time they need. In the meantime the bands plans are to get out on the road early 2008 so expect some new tour dates posted. To find out when and where they will be playing exactly keep checking out for the new information at their myspace page. The band will update for all the latest news on the site or you could just drop by and show some love for the band they will be sure to answer back. Their next show is November 2 at Jensen main stage with the bands: Shipshape and Bristol Fashion, This is Hospital, We Spell Disaster, and Divide the Day. The show is located at 2905 De la Vina in Santa Barbara. Cost is six dollars.
